I'm still laughing days later
Reading David Sedaris's essays, I'm laughing at almost every single line. When that is coupled with his unique speaking voice, I was laughing so hard I only heard every other line! I'm sorry to those sitting around me. His newest material is some of his best. The Eastern European insults essay is absolutely hilarious. This is the third time I've seen him. We bring even more friends each time. Even though it's getting harder and harder to get out on a "school night", it's worth it every time.
The Long Beach Performing Art Center is a great venue. The sound was a little echo-y (we were in the third row), but that's the only complaint. The line moved quickly for the bar and bathroom, and there was a little picnic area in the front where one could enjoy some libations.
Bottom line: GO SEE DAVID SEDARIS! ANYWHERE!!
